Backrooms: The Lore v0.5 Update

Hello wanderers! I made a new update for Backrooms: The Lore, which brings important bug fixes and numerous quality-of-life features.

Here’s the full list of changes done for v0.5:

– Upgraded Photon Fusion SDK to v2.0
– The player no longer goes up and then falls when getting out of a vehicle
– The player no longer jumps up when running toward a sidewalk or any small vertical collider
– Character animation no longer wiggles around when you walk backward
– The game is now accessible to the most blocked regions like Iran, Brazil, and Russia without a VPN
– Added a gray Ehsan Motors Longener at The Hub for everyone’s use as a public shared car
– Added lock, respawn, kick, and delete buttons for the vehicles accessible via the backpack/inventory
– Added a spawn effect for vehicles
– Added speedometer for vehicles
– Vehicle material emission now also turns on when the lights are on
– Fixed the vehicles’ roughness and metallic textures
– Fixed the car wheels flickering
– The player vehicle’s back view camera no longer goes into walls
– The car engine sound is now synced for the passengers
– Added new engine, door, shifting gear, and hit sound effects for vehicles
– The player now takes damage when jumping out of a moving vehicle
– Added item preview for vehicles
– Passengers can no longer use a vehicle’s horn
– Stamina is now fully refilled when entering a vehicle
– The vehicle camera views are correct while sitting as a passenger in someone elseโ€™s vehicle
– Fixed the occlusion culling problem in The Hub
– The double doors in the hub no longer teleport you out of the level
– Added labels on the hub doors
– Flashlights on the top floor of level 1 now have charge values
– Level -0 pause menu webpage now redirects to a Wayback Machine link instead because of the level being removed by Wikidot
– Added motion blur to Levels 0 and -0
– The “collect valuables” alert is removed in levels without any valuables (for example The Hub or Manila Room)
– Upgraded ReadyPlayerMe SDK
– Some avatar materials now show correctly in the game
– Added an option to remove downloaded avatars to clear up storage space
– The avatar placeholder is shown after 1 second of loading instead of instantly
– Added different hit sound effects and a separate set of hit sounds for female avatars
– Added different head movement animations for when walking or running
– Added animations for applying health kit and greasy marshmallows
– Jumping now reduces stamina
– You now start a level with 0 stamina
– Improved the layout of touchscreen buttons
– You can now use the chat button to unlock and show your cursor on PC builds
– Added percentage texts to the status bars
– Added description in the players list for players with special rank
– Added an alert for friendly fire
– Items now fall down when they’re in midair
– If the number of chips on the ground is less than 9, you will visually see less than 9 chips
– You can no longer pick up a flashlight if you already have a fully charged flashlight
– When picking up an item with a too large quantity or charge the rest is automatically dropped on the ground
– You can now easily select objects that are inside each other
– Increased collected chips limit to 2K instead of 1K per level
– Limited the spawn count of items that players can drop to 100
– Fixed the duplication bug. You no longer get 4 numbers of an item when you drop 3 numbers of it
– Changed the health kit’s cross color to green (Geneva Convention compliance)
– Added more than 20 new skins made by BPS2 and Athena for the knife and flashlight
– Items information is listed on the Esyverse website
– Flashlights emission map now turns on and off with the light source
– You can now preview the turned-on version of the flashlight skin in the main menu
– You now need to hold down LMB to look around in the main menu on the PC versions
– Upgraded 5 Minutes Chat SDK
– Made a new line-based design for the chat
– Added back the quick chat with a cooldown and customizable phrases
– Added a new Ultra quality setting
– You can now request for Esyverse account removal from the settings panel
– Redesigned the rules panel
– You can now read the rules panel again later
– Changed the “Claim VIP” button to a more clear “Be a donor” design
– Donors’ usernames are now shown in the credits
– Fixed an issue with Cute Adblocker’s Knife skin
– Fixed a bug with the screensaver not disabling when the text field was active on Android
– The stamina boost now works for VIP members
– Screensaver and control settings now apply in levels
– An avatar with an empty URL no longer shows up in the Avatar Showcase
– Avatar showcase now shows the player’s rank
– Smiler’s collider is removed
– Smilers now disappear after killing a player
– On-screen input can no longer be changed midgame to avoid attack-spam bug
– An item is no longer removed from the inventory when there is no place to drop it
– Your knife no longer turns to default when you change your avatar
– The game now automatically resets the network after a region change (no longer need to restart to apply)
– The hole texture no longer appears like a sticker
– Autologin is now removed. You will need to logout of your account in the account settings if you’re playing on a shared device
– Changed the background effect in the login menu
– Added an option to show the password in the password fields
– Removed “guest account”s
– Added an option to suggest a strong password while making an account
– Added an option to suggest a random username while making an account
– You can now only edit your account once per 10 minutes
– Updated English, Persian, German, Russian, and Thai translations
